Solar power panels generate electricity from sunlight. The roof mounted photovoltaic (PV) panels collect the suns light and converts the energy into DC current. This is fed through an inverter and converted to 240V AC electricity to power your home. The amount of electricity you can produce depends on the number and efficiency of the panels and the size of the inverter. Your home remains connected to the power grid so when you generate more electricity than you need you can feed it into the grid or purchase more from the grid when you are not producing enough to meet your requirements.
The savings on offer with solar power are very attractive. The amount you save will depend on your household’s current electricity usage, the size of the solar system being installed, orientation and –
inclination of the modules and the feed-in tariff offered by your electricity supplier. Heat Doc Ltd will assess these factors and give you an estimate of your savings.
By reducing the amount of electricity generated by fossil fuels you are significantly reducing your carbon footprint. Each MWh of electricity you generate from the sun will reduce your greenhouse emissions by one tonne.
At Heat Doc we use PVtech high quality Solar Photovoltaic (PV) components.
